Antique Nailhead Beads
Classic elongated teardrops were de rigeur for the highly embellished clothing styles of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. I like the way they pair up to create a heart shape. Or insect wings!
European glass, made around 1900, give or take ten years. They show some signs of wear, on the surface, but have been selected from the strand to avoid broken tips or holes.
Absolutely essential for bead embroidery, as shown on the heart-brooch-in-progress. Their graphic punch brings order to a busy design.
